I was lucky enough to meet Mr Hume once at a show and he was a very gracious and informative man.
Sadly he has passed away now, but he leaves behind a legacy of films such as A Fish Called Wanda, For Your Eyes Only, A View to a Kill, Shirley Valentine as well as loads of the Carry on movies, not to mention that he was Cinematographer on Return of the Jedi.
